Airline : MSP "positive" buyer can be found

25 March 2010

Highlands and Islands Labour MSP David Stewart is "positive" that a buyer can be found for Inverness-based airline Highland Airways, which has been placed in administration.

He said: "I have been a strong supporter of Highland Airways and deeply regret that the company is going into administration. The company has a skilled workforce of pilots, engineers and technical staff and serves vital lifeline routes to Western Isles, as well as being involved in the oil industry and cargo supplies.

"Highland Airways is an important Inverness-based company and although it is now in administration I’m still positive that a buyer can be found for the firm."

He added that he would be meeting Highland ands islands Enterprise representatives to discuss the company’s future.
