David Stewart (Highlands and Islands) (Scottish Labour): To ask the Scottish Government on what dates in 2017 the Rural Affairs, Food and the Environment (RAFE) Delivery Board plans to meet, and at which meeting the board will discuss delivery of the biodiversity strategy outcomes. (S5W-7370)
Roseanna Cunningham: The RAFE Delivery Board has met informally since May 2016. It provides a forum to share best practice and experience between organisations and to work on issues of common interest. Membership comprises chief executives or equivalent of the main delivery bodies and senior officials from Scottish Government. The following dates have been set for RAFE Delivery Board meetings during 2017: 2 March, 10 May, 29 June, 26 September and 21 November 2017. A range of issues will be discussed which are important to the environment and rural economy. Ministers have yet to consider formal arrangements for biodiversity and land use governance. On biodiversity, the focus of the co-ordination of delivery sits with the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy Coordination Group (which is chaired by Scottish Natural Heritage) which will continue to meet regularly and will continue to support and coordinate the delivery of the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy and Scotland’s Biodiversity – a Route Map to 2020.
